Different Shapes of Pearls

Round Pearls

Round pearls are the most classic and sought-after type of pearl, known for their perfect symmetry and elegant appearance. They are often considered the standard for pearl quality and are favored for traditional jewelry designs.

Keshi Pearls

Keshi pearls occur when a mollusk expels the nucleus (inserted for cultured pearls) during the forming process. The mollusk continues to deposit nacre, resulting in a pearl made entirely of nacre.

Typically irregular and non-symmetrical, keshi pearls can be round, oval, or baroque in shape. Their uniqueness makes them popular for artistic jewelry designs.

They come in a wide range of colors, including white, cream, pink, gold, and even darker shades. The colors can also exhibit overtones, adding to their visual appeal.

Baroque Pearls

Baroque pearls are unique and irregularly shaped pearls that stand out for their distinctive forms and artistic appeal. Unlike traditional round pearls, baroque pearls can vary significantly in shape, size, and surface texture.

Baroque pearls are available in a wide range of colors, including white, cream, pink, lavender, gold, and even darker shades. They can also exhibit overtones, adding depth to their coloration.

Drop (Teardrop) Pearls

Pearls that are shaped like elongated drops or teardrops.

Coin Pearls

Flat, disc-shaped pearls resembling coins. Popular in modern jewelry, they create a unique visual impact.

Flat on one side and rounded on the other, resembling a button. Often used in earrings and designs where a more secure fit is needed.
